  Lozoya Studios is a full service studio that specializes in people. World renown for his lighting, Oscar Lozoya is the main photographer in the studio.   Both Oscar & Jessica Lozoya are Master Photographers, Photographic Craftsman and are Certified Professional Photographers. They are the only husband and wife team in the state of New Mexico to hold these prestigious designations.

  Certified Professional Photographer is a designation granted by the Professional Photographic Certification Commission, the world's leading certification agency of imaging professionals. Those who have earned certification have passed a comprehensive written examination measuring their technical expertise and have successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for review and approval. And every five years, a Certified photographer must renew the credential with continuing education, assuring you that they maintain an unmatched level of expertise and development.     Oscar Lozoya's favorite pastime as a child was drawing and painting. In his early teens he took up music and for many years made his living as a professional musician. Oscar discovered photography and soon knew it was what he wanted to do. Oscar opened Lozoya Studios in his old South Broadway neighborhood in Albuquerque, NM shooting commercial photography specializing in people: Album covers, posters, press kits, ads, magazines spreads, etc. He found that much of the same technique and models used in Commercial Photography could also be used in Fine Art Photography.

    Among the awards his work has received are: 11 time Photographer/Director of the Year through the Professional Photographers Association of New Mexico. In 2004, 1998, and 1997 Oscar received the Highest Print Case Score in the Southwest from the Southwestern Professional Photographers Association. He has also received the Regional Medallion Award through the American Society of Photographers in 2005 and 2003. Oscar became a member of The Professional Photographers of America (PPA) in 1996 and has had 26 prints accepted into the National Loan Collection. In 1999 he received The Master of Photography degree on print merits only, that same year he received The Photographic Craftsman degree on speaking merits only. In 2003 Oscar Lozoya became one of the first photographers to receive the newly created Excellence in Imaging Award from the PPA that requires a minimum of 13 national loan prints to qualify. The Professional Photographers of America has also selected Lozoya's images for a full page National Ad Campaign. Oscar is a Past President of the Professional Photographers Association of New Mexico.

    Oscar's artwork is exhibited in museums internationally. Lozoya's photographic art is represented in the United States by the Andrew Smith Gallery in Santa Fe and in Latin America by Dr. Enrique Cortazar of The National Fine Arts Institute of Mexico. Amherst Media publishes Oscar's books on black and white photography titled “Fine Art Portrait Photography” and “The Art of Black and White Portrait Photography”. Oscar is currently is working on the completion of his next book.

Jessica Lozoya

      Jessica Lozoya started in photography as a high school freshman at the Palm Beach County School of the Arts. During her time there she also studied drawing, painting, sculpture, and print -making. Jessica won many awards in these areas, but it was her recognition in photography that led to commercial jobs. She first began photographing portfolios for actors and models in addition to the documentation of fellow artist’s work. Jessica was just 16 when she photographed her first wedding. While still in high school, Jessica had her photography exhibited at the prestigious Norton Gallery of Art in West Palm Beach.

Mrs. Lozoya is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Photography Technology. Jessica was the first active OSU student to ever earn PPA print merits and is also the first graduate of the program to receive a PPA Masters of Photography degree. While a member of the Professional Photographers of Oklahoma, Jessica received numerous awards included: Best of Show – General, Kodak Gallery and Fuji Masterpiece awards. In 2000 she moved to New Mexico and has been at Lozoya Studios photographing Weddings and Quinceañeras in addition to managing the digital workflow of the Studio. She is currently serving as Vice President of the Professional Photographers Association of New Mexico.
